Mary and Allen are that type of couple who we can SEE they are perfect for each other. They are sweet, caring and they were just so natural at their photoshoot, that really made my job easier :D
They are farm lovers so that made us plan towards a farm engagement session. But Mary had a very special location in her heart. She wanted to shoot at a farm that once belonged to her great grandparents, because she has a great sentimental attachment to that property. This property has been sold several times since they passed away. And even though her family no longer owns this land anymore, luckily with help of family members, she got us there.
I would like to send big thanks for current owners, I hope they are reading this post. Thank you for allowing us into your place, it was very kind of you. It was very special moment, specially for Mary who was able to bring back to life childhood memories and create new ones as an adult now that both of them are about to start a new journey on marriage. Thank you :)
Ladies & Gentleman, lets meet this place where Mary describes as “one of my most favorite places on earth”. Now it became part of Allen’s memories as well :)
Tip: Make sure to read their interview and get inspired by their love story + Watch their Highlights Movie! I LOVE how it turned out!!!

Daysy: How did you meet?
Mary & Allen: We met at work in 2012
Daysy: Where did you go for your 1st date?
Mary & Allen: Shopping for work boots for Allen
Daysy: How did he propose? Can you describe that moment?
Mary: He woke up early and made breakfast. He hid the ring on my plate. It was very sweet. I was very excited and happy.
Daysy: Why did you pick this farm for your engagement session?
Mary: The farm belonged to my great-grandparents, I was fortunate enough to have spent a lot of time with my great grandmother and great grandfather, they are very special to me. I spent a lot of time at the farm as I child and have many cherished memories from there. It is one of my favorite places in the world.
Daysy: I noticed that you got very emotional when we got to the Chicken Coops that used to be your grandparents’. Do you have any funny memories you could share with us?
Mary: The chicken coop was my great grandmothers, I liked to go with her to collect eggs. Except when she would have me get the eggs that chickens were sitting on. She would always say “they won’t peck you”... she was wrong :) they would and they did peck. When I looked in the chicken coop, it looked like she had just walked out of it. It was exactly the same, exactly. I felt like I could see her in there.
Daysy: How old were you when you remember you last visited their farm?
Mary: There was a auction at the farm after my great grandparents passed away, that is the last time I was there. I was 12 or 13 I think.
Daysy: Are you planning to honeymoon?
Mary & Allen: Yes, we are planning a honeymoon. We have not selected a destination yet.
Daysy: How do you imagine yourselves as a couple from now to 5 years?
Mary & Allen: We bought a house this winter so in five years we’ll probably be raising our family.
Daysy: Any special song?
Mary & Allen: We don’t have a special song. We haven’t looked at what songs we are going to play at the wedding either.
Daysy: Describe your relationship in two words.
Mary & Allen: Perfect love. (I very much agree! - Daysy :)
And lastly, one of our highlights, was this cute good looking cat, that kept photobombing us. I had to capture a quick one to make sure we remember it as part of the day :)
